Kaupr has attempted to clarify the status of Goobit/BTCX's MiCA application, which according to Goobit was rejected on Thursday evening. The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) has not yet officially confirmed this, and Kaupr sent the questions to the regulator on Friday morning.

Kaupr has closely monitored the development of the MiCA process over recent months, both in the Nordics and the Baltics, and has in recent days attempted to establish the status of Goobit/BTCX's application, which according to a statement from Goobit on Thursday evening has been rejected. However, no official statement has yet been released by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. Kaupr has therefore approached FI with questions regarding both the justification for the rejection and a number of other questions related to the regulator's handling of the application.
Despite Goobit itself disclosing the rejection, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority has not yet issued any official confirmation. This information first became known through a statement from Goobit/BTCX on Thursday afternoon.
Kaupr asks the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority why a decision regarding Goobit/BTCX's MiCA application was not available by June 30, which was the deadline for MiCA. Kaupr points to what FI itself wrote in a statement on its website on July 1: that the deadline for the transitional period for the EU's crypto regulatory framework MiCA expired at the end of June, and that only companies with a license may offer crypto services in Sweden going forward.
Kaupr also asks why no status for Goobit/BTCX was included in the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority's statement on July 1, in which the regulator otherwise informed that one company had its MiCA application approved and two other companies had been rejected. Furthermore, Kaupr asks what the basis was for Goobit/BTCX's application still being under review on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 1, referring to the information Kaupr received after 5:00 PM: "Deras ansökan är fortfarande under bedömning" (Their application is still under assessment).
Finally, Kaupr asks for the justification as to why Goobit/BTCX has received a rejection on its MiCA application.
Kaupr sent these questions to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority on Friday morning and will follow up on the matter as soon as a response is available.
