Kaupr towards 2026: We’re building a Nordic ecosystem for the future of finance

Kaupr towards 2026 is less about us as a company, and more about the ecosystem around us. Through news, newsletters, videos and events, we are building a Nordic platform that will make it easier for builders, managers and investors to navigate the future of finance.

From Media House to Ecosystem

Kaupr was established as a Nordic content hub for web3, blockchain and crypto, based on online newspaper and editorial content on kaupr.io. Over time, we've built on newsletters, podcasts, video, events and live broadcasts, so that our content is where people actually follow.

Kaupr thus functions more as a platform and ecosystem than a traditional media house: editorial content, curated newsletters and conversations with industry guests are interconnected, mirroring developments in digital finance in and around the Nordic region.

For builders, managers and investors

Kaupr is primarily a tool for three groups: builders and entrepreneurs who develop new products and services, managers who must make strategic and regulatory choices, and investors who assess risks and opportunities in digital assets, infrastructure and applications. In 2025, we have taken a clearer Nordic starting point, with an emphasis on how players in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland are preparing for increased competition, new technologies and a more integrated Nordic and European crypto and fintech scene.

A stronger team

One of the things that has pleased us the most over the past year is that we have both built a strong Norwegian team - and have also put in place a team “on the ground” in Sweden. This makes it possible to be closer to our community and to keep followers and readers even better informed about both news and events — and we look forward to building similar teams in other Nordic countries. In addition, we have built a team of international freelancers who have contributed research, perspectives and content throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone — both Nordic team members and international freelancers: Venkat, Leon, Morten B., Hani, Kalle, Uche and Rohan — for the efforts, energy and perspectives you have contributed throughout the year.

What we built next in 2025

During 2025, we have published more content on how digital assets, new market platforms and financial infrastructures are changing the competitive landscape for Nordic players. We have been particularly concerned with how Nordic environments can think regionally from the start, and use both technology and collaboration to build solutions that can scale beyond the domestic market.

In parallel, we have begun to follow developments in the Baltics more closely, where communities in Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are highlighting themselves in advanced fintech, payment solutions and digital finance models. For us, this is about understanding and communicating experiences that can be relevant for Nordic players who want to stay at the forefront of innovation and international growth, but also about an economic and cultural community.

In 2025, we also launched an Event Hub and event calendar that brings together important conferences, seminars and meetups in the fields of web3, fintech and digital finance — in the Nordic region and selected European markets. The goal is to make it easier for our community to navigate the events landscape, and to connect editorial content and interviews more closely to the venues where the industry actually meets.

During the year, we also conducted our first interviews in a professional TV studio in Stockholm, and we are looking forward to sharing more news and interviews in this format — both in recordings and via live broadcasts.

We are broadening our perspective, both in breadth and depth. These days, therefore, we are putting the finishing touches on a wiki that will provide both existing and new readers with increased knowledge and insight about blockchains, cryptocurrencies, web3 and digital assets — a place to go for basic concepts, explanations and context that complement news, analysis and interviews.

All content on kaupr.io is now also available in several languages — Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and English — so that we can better reflect both the breadth of the Nordic region and the interest of international readers. At the same time, we are working to target the content more clearly to different audiences and interests, and have therefore launched our own thematic tabs for finance, market, “build” and society, which make it easier to find what is most relevant for each individual.

Parallel to the development of the site, we are building the Future of Finance universe as a thematic hub: newsletter, microsite, podcast and other formats that tie together traditional finance, fintech and crypto, and that follow developments in investment, payment and infrastructure over time.

Strong Community Growth

Over the past year, the size of our ecosystem has effectively doubled, measured through cross-channel reach and engagement. We now reach thousands of people via around 12,500 touchpoints a month -- including online newspaper, newsletter, podcasts, video and social media -- and the number of followers on LinkedIn has passed 3,500. For us, these figures are not a measure in themselves, but an indication that the need for independent insight into the future of finance is increasing.

At the same time, we are seeing the contours of an expanded community, with crypto and web 3 enthusiasts following both fintech communities and more traditional financial players — whether in banking, payments or wealth management.

Building Ecosystem with Partners

We are not building this ecosystem alone. Throughout the year, we have worked more closely with selected partners in the Nordic region and Europe — ranging from local web3 environments and fintech clusters to conferences and professional networks — sharing insights, data and experiences. An increasingly important part is more interactivity with the community: guest bloggers who share their own perspectives, entrepreneurs and builders who talk about the products they develop, and founders who give interviews, panels and live broadcasts to discuss what they stand for themselves.

Together with these environments, we strive to make it easier for our community to find the important conversations, people and meeting points — whether in Oslo, Stockholm, London or Barcelona — and to raise voices that are actually building the future of finance, not just talking about it.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has read, listened, watched, shared, given input, who we have met at events or who have appeared in interviews and panels — without you, Kaupr would not have been an ecosystem, but just a platform.

What we'll take with us into 2026

In 2026, we will further develop Kaupr as a Nordic ecosystem with a focus on the future of investing and the future of payments. That means more attention to how capital is managed, invested and redistributed in a landscape where blockchain, bitcoin, digital assets, tokenization and stablecoins leave room for new business models.

We will also follow the rise of what we call agentic finance and economics - where algorithms, agents and automated processes increasingly take part in investment decisions, risk management and transactions on behalf of people and companies. The ambition is to show how this is not just technology, but concrete innovation and business development that affects everything from product strategy and partnerships to how Nordic companies meet their customers in everyday life.

At the same time, we will strengthen the coverage of environments and projects that actually build these solutions — in the Nordic countries, in the Baltics and elsewhere in Europe when the solutions inspire or challenge. The aim is to make it easier to follow key innovation trends, see the connections between investment, payment and infrastructure, and identify the communities, companies and initiatives that point the direction for the future of finance — without Kaupr having to be at the centre of the story. That so many are already with us on this journey adds both motivation and humility into 2026.
