— I have been waiting for this day for 2-3 years, says Morten Myrstad, founder and CEO of Kaupr.
Kaupr has been building a Nordic media house and ecosystem for onchain finance since 2022. Newsletters, podcasts, live broadcasts and events have been added one by one. The content has always been open to everyone. But something has been missing.
— It hasn't been a lack of ideas or will. What has been missing is a technical solution that delivers a seamless user experience, says Myrstad.
Last week, the pieces fell into place — and a user journey that works from A to Z.
Registration is free and passwordless. Users enter their email address and receive a six-digit one-time code. No password. No complicated technology.
— You don't need a crypto wallet or any technical background. Your entry ticket is your email address, says Myrstad.
Kaupr covers cryptocurrencies, blockchains and web3, but believes onchain finance is a more accurate definition — one that also captures the direction that traditional finance, fintech and agentic AI are now moving toward.
— In 1998, people talked about "online business" — not because everyone had a website, but because the direction was clear. We talk about onchain finance for the same reason, says Myrstad.
He is clear that the name is not a technical description of the product.
— Kaupr Onchain is not a blockchain solution in a technical sense. It is a name that describes the direction we are moving toward — and the world we cover, says Myrstad.
For him, this is not just a new product.
— Kaupr Onchain is also a new journey for everyone who appreciates the work we do at Kaupr — and for the new ones who will hopefully join us.
