K33 and Goobit/BTCX have worked closely together for years, with K33 among other things providing liquidity to BTCX. In August 2025, the companies expanded the partnership when K33 became infrastructure partner for trading and custody of Goobit's newly launched bitcoin holdings. Now that Goobit/BTCX has been rejected under MiCA and can no longer continue customer activity, it is unclear what happens to the partnership going forward.
Both K33 AB and Goobit AB are listed in Stockholm.
When the expanded partnership was announced in August 2025, K33 was to serve as infrastructure partner for trading and custody of Goobit's treasury holdings, complementing Goobit's own self-custody. According to Goobit, the first funding round in the treasury strategy was oversubscribed, with strategic investors experienced in capital markets and bitcoin treasuries, and a second round was expected. Jenssen described the partnership at the time as building on a long-standing relationship with a company with "deep roots in Sweden's Bitcoin landscape."
Torbjørn Bull Jenssen, CEO of K33, tells Kaupr on Friday morning:
"We are in dialogue with the company and awaiting their assessment of what they want to do going forward now that they have received a rejection and cannot continue customer activity."
As Kaupr has previously reported, Finansinspektionen rejected Goobit AB's MiCA application on Thursday, 2 July. It remains unclear how the rejection affects the operational partnership between K33 and BTCX, beyond the fact that BTCX can no longer offer customer activity while awaiting a possible appeal or new solution.
