Kvarn Capital has shared further details on Kvarn X Embedded: banks, brokers and fintechs can offer trading, custody and transfer of 300+ crypto-assets under their own brand via one API, with the MiCA licence held by Kvarn Capital.
Kvarn X Embedded is Finnish Kvarn Capital's solution for companies that want to offer crypto services without applying for their own MiCA authorisation. Through one API, banks, brokers, fintechs and wallet apps can build trading, custody and transfer of crypto-assets into their own product, while Kvarn Capital Ltd – a crypto-asset service provider and payment institution authorised under MiCA and supervised by Finland's Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) – stands as the regulated counterparty to the end customer.
The service covers more than 300 crypto-assets against euro, from bitcoin and ether to MiCA-compliant stablecoins, with institutional liquidity and order execution across multiple venues. The partner keeps its own brand and customer experience, while Kvarn Capital handles custody, transfers and compliance behind the scenes. According to Kvarn, the model is built for companies that do not want to build their own crypto exchange, but want to make crypto available to customers they already have.
Kvarn points to Swedish Goobit Group as an example of a partner using the model. Goobit has launched the savings platform Futureproof, which combines bitcoin, gold and interest-bearing assets. For the crypto services within Futureproof that require authorisation, Kvarn Capital handles order execution, custody and transfer under its own MiCA authorisation.
Kvarn Capital's MiCA authorisation is passported across the European Economic Area, so a partner can in principle launch in several markets without a separate licensing process in each country. The company describes itself as a "technical distribution model," where the partner provides the interface while Kvarn Capital retains the regulatory responsibility, the customer relationship and the best-execution obligation.
