The international crypto platform Bybit is becoming the new title partner of the Stockholm Open, which is simultaneously reclaiming its classic name. The agreement marks that the trend of crypto companies sponsoring sports has now also gained a foothold in the Nordic region.

The Stockholm Open is a tradition-rich tennis tournament that annually gathers around 30,000 spectators in the Kungliga Tennishallen in Stockholm. The tournament has in recent years been played under the name Nordic Open, but now reverts to the Stockholm Open name in combination with the new title partner.
The new agreement means that Bybit will be the title partner of the Stockholm Open for three years, and that the tournament will be named Bybit Stockholm Open in the future. According to the parties, the cooperation provides the tournament with a stable partner for further development, both sporting and audience-oriented, while at the same time Bybit strengthens its presence in the Nordic market.
“The partnership with Stockholm Open is a strategically important step in our establishment in the Nordic region. This is a tournament with a strong history, high credibility and an audience that values quality and long-termism. For us, this is the right arena to build trust and presence on the Nordic market,” says Gustav Buder, Regional Partner Nordics at Bybit EU.
The Stockholm Open was founded in 1969 by former world star Sven Davidson. Every year in October, about 30,000 spectators gather in the Kungliga Tennishallen for a week of international tennis, and the tournament is part of the ATP Tour. In recent years it has been played under the name Nordic Open, before now taking back its original name.
Tournament chief Rasmus Hult believes the name change underlines the tournament's history and identity.
“Stockholm Open has an audience with a strong interest in economics and business, and we have extensive experience of working with partners from the financial sector. Bybit is a strong and long-term partner who shares our ambition to continue the development of the tournament. We are also very pleased that together we are bringing back the classic name of the tournament, which clearly reflects our origins and our history,” says Hult.
Crypto companies have in recent years become an increasingly visible player in global sports sponsorship, particularly in major leagues and championships. Bybit's entry as title partner of the Stockholm Open is an example of this type of sponsorship now also establishing itself more strongly in the Nordic countries.
Bybit sees the Nordic region as a strategically important market, and the partnership with Stockholm Open is highlighted as a key step to build awareness and trust in the region. For its part, the tournament has a history of cooperation with financial players, and the agreement with Bybit implies that it is now also joining the crypto market as part of this development.
In the European Union, Bybit's operations are operated through Bybit EU, which is the legal entity that has signed the partnership agreement with Stockholm Open. Bybit EU is part of the Bybit Group, which according to the company has over 80 million users globally. The company is licensed in the European Union under MICA regulations and provides trading services with a focus on transparency, security and high technical performance.
Bybit EU's offering was launched on the Nordic market during 2025, and the agreement with Stockholm Open will be a visible step in this venture.
Stockholm Open is described as a meeting place for sports, business and the public, with a long tradition of cooperation with players in the financial sector. Through the new title partnership with Bybit, the tournament continues the line of financial partners, while allowing for increased exposure to a growing industry related to digital assets and crypto trading.
