Successor Grounds

It was in June that it became known that Persson Bergius was on his way from Danish Lunar to Swedish Marginalen Bank, as VD, where he succeeds Ewa Glennow, owner and entrepreneur of Marginalen Bank. But it is only now in September that Persson Bergiius seriously steps into his new role.

From challenger to challenger?

Danske Lunar, where Persson Bergius has been country manager for Sweden, has marked itself as a challenger bank in the Nordic banking landscape, including in mobile banking. But the bank has also been the only Nordic bank to have offered crypto trading in its own app, most recently by doing crypto trading also available for Norwegian customers in January of this year.

The question is, does Persson Bergius not only go from being a country manager to being a CEO, but also that he goes from one challenger bank to another?

In July, it became known, among other things, that Marginalen Bank had entered into a Strategic Framework Agreement with the Swedish crypto exchange Safello. The agreement will enable Safello's customers to access banking services and products provided by Marginalen Bank via Safello's platform. Safello then stated that the deal was an important step for Safello towards its goal of becoming a crypto bank.
