Finnish crypto broker Kvarn X is set to launch its crypto trading services in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark in the second half of 2025, following the approval of its MiCA licence application.
These plans were shared by Martin Wichmann, CEO of Kvarn since April this year, in an extended video conversation with Kaupr, a short clip of which you can watch here.
The full interview (in English) will be available as a podcast on our YouTube channel, Kaupr Media. Subscribers to the Future of Finance Premium newsletter will also be the first to know when the recording is released.

In the conversation, Wichmann explains that the company has been building up the brokerage platform Kvarn in Finland in recent years. Based on these good results and the success of the platform, Kvarn is now ready to expand its services to other Nordic countries.
From the start, over four hundred tokens will be available on Kvarn X's crypto platform, based on the MICA license that Kvarn has applied for in Finland and is awaiting approval for. Eventually, Kvarn X will also offer more financial products - including both digital assets and more traditional investment offerings - under a MiFID II license recently received by Kaupr.
“We will begin our Nordic expansion and work towards offering a cross-asset platform,” says Wichmann.
Wichmann sees the Nordic market as quite unique compared to other European countries. - No one in the Nordic countries has yet managed to dominate the entire region. It's an opportunity we're eager to follow up on,” he says.
He also tells Kaupr that the rollout in Sweden, Norway and Denmark will follow a two-pronged strategy: to adapt the Kvarn X platform to each country, while at the same time being present with people and activities in each market.
